Combat Training in the Sky | Skyborn | A Review

Hi again guys! I hope you’re first week back at work this year has been enjoyable, busy but enjoyable! I’m back again with another review, as I mentioned in my previous post this week, this month will be a month of book reviews. So keep your eyes out for your favourites!

Today I’m reviewing Skyborn by David Dalglish and is the first book in his new Seraphim series. (A review for Fireborn to follow shortly).

This is another great book which I picked up last year. First off, the cover was the first thing that caught my eye, the illustration is amazing and of course, the blurb, was another thing that made me want to read the book.

The book is based on twins Breanna and Kael, now orphans due to wars, are at that age when they can go to Seraphin Academy to learn to fight, basically. The whole aerial flight thing is pretty cool, but then we add in elements and the control and power that they have to learn in order to fight with them, now that’s extra.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series, and really think that this is a series I can get behind. The first book is focused on the training at the school, I guess, arguably, a bit like being at Hogwarts? But then towards the end, the twins and the school are thrust into a fight for freedom.

Sounds good right?

Let me know in the comments below if you’ve read the first book in the series and if not, if you reckon you’d give it a go? Until next time.
