The Maker of Kings | A Promise of Fire | Blog Tour

I’m really excited to be a part of A Promise of Fire book tour today, this is the first book in The Kingmaker Chronicles and it’s definitely made me want to read the next book!

Blurb

Catalia “Cat” Fisa is a powerful clairvoyant known as the Kingmaker. This smart-mouthed soothsayer has no interest in her powers and would much rather fly under the radar, far from the clutches of her homicidal mother. But when an ambitious warlord captures her, she may not have a choice…

Griffin is intent on bringing peace to his newly conquered realm in the magic-deprived south. When he discovers Cat is the Kingmaker, he abducts her. But Cat will do everything in her power to avoid her dangerous destiny and battle her captor at every turn. Although up for the battle, Griffin would prefer for Cat to help his people willingly, and he’s ready to do whatever it takes to coax her…even if that means falling in love with her.

I loved fantasy stories when I was a teen, especially those involving magic (Harry Potter, I’m looking at you!) And this book is no exception, I loved the involvement of Greek Mythology, reminding me of the Percy Jackson series, something which I have, of yet, to delve into.
Cat is such a feisty and strong female character in the book, relying on herself and her magic to fight (or mouth) her way through problems. The author has created a action-packed story, full of interesting plots and mystery’s that are not all unraveled in this book, a good reason to read the next! I have to admit, Cat and Griffin made me laugh throughout the book, their banters are a pure pleasure to read and the tension building is so well done that by the end of the book, you may fist pump the air!
Would recommend this book for lovers of Greek Mythology and fantasy, so pick it up and give it a go!
Follow along with the rest of the #PromiseofFire tour, running until the end of this week!
