Hi again guys and welcome back to my short book series. This month, I am focusing on the famous (and not so famous) couples in books and series.
Today, we’re focusing on Romeo and Juliet from Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet.
If you studied English at school, you would have heard/read/watched a version of Romeo and Juliet. (Leonardo DiCaprio also appeared in a version of Romeo and Juliet – so there’s an initiative to watch it!) If not, google it!
Romeo and Juliet’s relationship is… upsetting (well I get upset just reading it!)
Meeting at a ball and realising that the love of your life is on the wrong team, Capulets vs Montague’s, it can lead to a very messy business.
The two plan to run away together (spoilers!) but in the end, this was not to be.
With the two families fighting and lines being crossed, the two young lovers end up dead in each others arms… urm?!
A tragic love story if there ever was one and a well-read and well-known play of Shakespeares!
Let me know in the comments below, if you’ve read Romeo and Juliet and what your opinion is of it, and I’ll be back next week with another blog post.
