Wearing your heart on your sleeve | Ink | A Review

Good afternoon guys. This post is very, very late, but it’s finally up – yay!

Today I’m reviewing Ink by Alice Broadway, a book that I was lucky enough to win a copy of.

Blurb

Every action, every deed, every significant moment is tattooed on your skin for ever. When Leora’s father dies, she is determined to see her father remembered forever. She knows he deserves to have all his tattoos removed and made into a Skin Book to stand as a record of his good life. But when she discovers that his ink has been edited and his book is incomplete, she wonders whether she ever knew him at all.

This book is super, super interesting. I really enjoyed reading it. I loved the idea of the ink being a record of everything on your skin. Being a tattoo owner, I myself like the idea of the tattoo being a ‘bookmark’ of where you were at that time in your life.

It’s a really interesting story but sad at the same time. There’s this whole big mystery surrounding Leora’s father and over the course of the book, she finds out more and more about him.

It looks like this book is the first in the series, so it’ll be interesting to find out what happens next and where Leora goes, what with now knowing more about her past than she originally did.

I’d recommend this book to lovers of YA and not necessarily tattoos, but it’s a truly wonderful and (in my opinion) a really quick read!

As always, let me know in the comments below what you thought of the book, if you’ve read it, and if not, will you be adding this to your TBR?
