Good evening guys, I’m sure you’ve realised, but there’s three blog posts going up today, so be sure to check them all out! Two are part of a blog tour!
Today I’m reviewing The One by John Marrs. Read on for more info.
How far would you go to find THE ONE?
One simple mouth swab is all it takes. A quick DNA test to find your perfect partner – the one you’re genetically made for.
A decade after scientists discover everyone has a gene they share with just one other person, millions have taken the test, desperate to find true love. Now, five more people meet their Match. But even soul mates have secrets. And some are more shocking – and deadlier – than others…
A psychological thriller with a difference, this is a truly unique novel which is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.
This was another book that I was super excited to read. Again, I managed to snag a proof copy off Netgalley and couldn’t wait to read it!
Found this book an interesting concept and really enjoyed seeing all the different lives and how they were affected by this one thing. A tad confusing to begin with to remember what happened in each story, but the not all the endings were happy, which makes for an interesting read.
As mentioned above, I really liked the concept behind the whole story, and being able to find your ‘soul mate’ with the use of science and DNA. It’s also a refreshing read to see that finding your soul mate isn’t necessarily the best thing to happen to you – sorry!
We follow the lives of a few people who have been matched through the system, both male and female characters and we see what they do with this information.
All stories turn out differently, and we do not always have the happy ending that we hope they would all have. Although there is one and that is lovely 🙂
I have to admit, to begin with, a got a tad confused trying to remember what was happening with each of the characters and although there is the theme of love, we also have revenge and murder all written into the book, making it an interesting read.
I’d recommend this to lovers of love and of mystery and thrillers, you won’t be disappointed!
As always, let me know in the comments below if you’ve read the book and what you thought, and if not, will you be adding it to your TBR?
