Having read a good few historical fiction, this book interested me. The oriental background sounded intriguing, and I was not disappointed with the intense description in the book – made me feel like I was there!

The story is interesting and moves along quickly, giving us glimpses into the area and the people calling Singapore they’re home. We’re given background information, just enough to allow us to proceed through the story.

The ending was rather sad and but lovely at the same time. A thread will always connect us to those that mean a lot to us, it’s such a wonderful thought.

A lovely read for those that like Historical fiction or who are new to the genre, especially non-UK historical fiction, it will have you day-dreaming of foreign lands.

The book blog tour continues this week, so be sure to check out the other blog posts throughout the week.
