Counting Down The Days | December Book TBR

I can’t quite believe it’s December.

We only have one month left of 2018 and then we’re rushing headfirst into 2019… weird huh?

As a kind of ‘filler’ post, I thought I’d make a list of books/proofs I’ve love to either finish or read before the new year (wish me luck!)

  • The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden – The final in her trilogy, I absolute adore this series and am so excited to find out what happens.
  • The Lost Man by Jane Harper – Another proof I’m excited to read. I’m a huge fan of Jane’s crime fiction and so this is a no-brainer.
  • The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon – This is a HUGE book. I’ve had it on my shelf for the past few months and I really want to read it before the release date. I’ve always wanted to read Samantha Shannon and this one has dragons and magic in it – so exciting!
  • Sleeping Beauties by Stephen and Owen King – another huge book. I bought this last year, primarily because of the cover and because I thought it sounded pretty good. Is this the month that I’ll finally crack it?
  • Miss Marley by Vanessa Lafaye – I received this proof recently and thought it would be a perfect short read before Christmas. This book is set before Marley meets Scrooge and is told from the point of view of Marley’s sister, before A Christmas Carol
  • Portrait of a Murderer by Anne Meredith – This hardback British Library Christmas Crime came out last year and I do love a good crime fiction.

I’m setting myself the challenge to get the two big books finished before 2019. I don’t normally read large books so I’m hoping to read 2 chapters a day to finish them. There’s also a couple of Christmassy books on the list – as it is the season and all! They’ll also be a bunch of Christmas posts over the next coming weeks so do keep an eye out.

Do let me know if you’ve set yourself a challenge to read certain books over December or if any on my list catch your eye?
