Time is Running Out | The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle | Review

I read this book a few days after release date last year.

And I just couldn’t put it down! It was that kind of book.

If you love reading mysteries and want to try something different, then you should give this a read.

Blurb

The Rules of Blackheath:

Evelyn Hardcastle will be murdered at 11:00 p.m.
There are eight days, and eight witnesses for you to inhabit.
We will only let you escape once you tell us the name of the killer.
Understood? Then let’s begin…

Evelyn Hardcastle will die. Every day until Aiden Bishop can identify her killer and break the cycle. But every time the day begins again, Aiden wakes up in the body of a different guest. And some of his hosts are more helpful than others…

The most inventive debut of the year twists together a mystery of such unexpected creativity it will leave readers guessing until the very last page.

Star Rating – 5 Stars

This book is probably towards the top of my favourite reads for 2018 list. It was fabulous! And it very much deserves it’s awards and recognition it’s received this past year.

You start off very much thrown into the thick of it, with no explanation as to what’s going on.

As you delve into the book, more and more puzzle pieces slowly fit together to create the story. Each chapter (pretty much) will have the main character ‘jumping’ into another witnesses body. Each day Aiden will have to re-live the same day over and over again, but through someone else’s eyes. It’s a really well-thought out book!

The book can be a bit mind-boggling at times. Both because Aiden is seemingly confused and readers trying to piece things together. There’s people in Blackheath that just don’t want Aiden to figure it out and they will stop at nothing to make sure that he doesn’t.

The solution to the riddle, and I will call it a riddle, is not what you would expect. Mind blown!

As always, let me know in the comments below if you’ve read the book and what you thought of it. And if you haven’t, will you be adding it to your TBR?
